Venue

EMC Europe 2025 will be in Paris (France), at Sorbonne Université (Campus Pierre et Marie Curie).

From Airports by public transportation:

Travelling from/to either Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport or Orly Airport to downtown Paris via metro/RER (not bus or tramway) requires the purchase of either a specific one-way ‘Paris Région Aéroports’ ticket or a ‘Paris Visite’ travel pass. It must be loaded into a re-usable ‘Navigo Easy’ contactless card available in either airport.

The ‘Paris Région Aéroports’ ticket allows you to reach any metro/RER station (with unlimited connections, if required) from one of the airports, provided that you do not exit the metro/RER before your final destination, and that the total trip takes less than 2 hours.

Another solution is the ‘Paris Visite’ travel pass, which offers unlimited access to transportation in Paris and its region, including travelling from/to airports (but excluding ‘RoissyBus’). It exists in 1, 2, 3 and 5-day variants. The pass can be bought in any metro station, or in either airport, and stored in the ‘Navigo Easy’ card.

From Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport to downtown Paris

– If you arrive in Terminal 1, first take the free CDGVAL automatic shuttle, get off in ‘Roissypôle’, and take the RER B train there.

– If you arrive in Terminal 2, take the RER B train in the station between Terminals 2D and 2F (40 minutes to downtown Paris). The free N1 bus shuttle can help you to move inside the whole Terminal 2 (except 2G). If you arrive in Terminal 2G, first take the free N2 bus shuttle to Terminal 2F.

– If you arrive in Terminal 3, you can walk (6 minutes) to the RER B station in ‘Roissypôle’.

Please pay attention that, depending on the time of day, some trains may go directly to downtown Paris without any stops, while others stop in all suburban stations. Panels on the platform indicate, in real time, the stops marked by each train arriving in the station.

As an alternative or in case of RER B disruption, you can also take ‘RoissyBus’ (specific ticket not included in either ‘Paris Région Aéroports’ or ‘Paris Visite’) from any terminal to downtown Paris (60 minutes).

From Orly Airport to downtown Paris

Take metro line 14 from Terminal 3 (25 minutes to downtown Paris). A free bus shuttle between Terminals 1-2-3 and Terminal 4 is available if you arrive in Terminal 4.

In case of metro line 14 disruption, you can either:

– take tramway line T7 from Terminal 4 to ‘Villejuif-Louis Aragon’, get off at the final station (40 minutes), and take metro line 7. Please note that, if you do not have a ‘Paris Visite’ pass, this requires the purchase of both a regular tramway ticket and a regular metro ticket (which differ from each other), not of the more expensive ‘Paris Région Aéroports’ ticket.

– take the ORLYVAL automatic shuttle from either terminal to RER B ‘Antony’ station (8 minutes), then RER B going to ‘Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2’ (25 to 35 minutes to downtown Paris). Pay attention not to take ‘Mitry-Claye’ (every other train) which stops in all suburban stations (you can look at the panels on the platform for confirmation).

Access to the campus:

The entrance for participants is located at 4 Pl. Jussieu, 75005 Paris

Taxi: From Roissy Charles De Gaulle (CDG) airport, 50 min, From Orly airport, 30 min

Metro: Line 7 or 10, stops : Jussieu, then a 7-min walk.

The station entrance is located near the university. Warning: DO NOT get off at ‘Cluny-La Sorbonne’ when riding on line 10 (this is a different site of Sorbonne Université).

Metro/RER tickets and bus/tram tickets (which are different and not interchangeable) can be bought in any metro station (and in the airports) and must be loaded into a re-usable ‘Navigo Easy’ contactless card (also available in the same locations).

If you came from the airport with a ‘Paris Région Aéroports’ ticket, you can not store any other metro/RER ticket in the same card until the former has been used.

You can also buy and load ‘Navigo Jour’ passes which are valid for unlimited transportation, whatever the means, for one day. Please note that they are not valid for travelling from/to airports.

Another solution is the “Paris Visite” travel pass described in the “From airports by public transportation” section just above.
