INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTERS
The following information is provided to assist authors in preparing their presentation. You shall comply with these instructions and guidelines to ensure that your presentation runs smoothly. If you need more information, please contact the Carbon 2025 Organizing Committee at [email protected]
For all presenters
–
The detailed schedule of presentations (oral and poster) will be ready and published on the event website on June 10th 2025.
For oral presenters
–
You must upload your presentation in advance to the conference system in the preview room (Charcot room – 1st floor). Please, bring a copy of your presentation in the preview room on a USB stick. It will not be possible to upload your presentation directly to the computers in the conference rooms. The use of personal laptops will not be possible either. All presentations will be erased from the conference computers at the end of the conference.
You must arrive in the room where your presentation is scheduled 15 minutes before the first presentation of this session and introduce yourself to the session Chair. The names of the session Chairs will be provided online with the detailed program.
It is kindly requested to stay for the whole session – for your communication and that of other speakers in this session – in order to allow delegates who wish to speak to you at the end of the session to find you easily.
Your presentation shall last 15 minutes (25 minutes for keynote speakers and 50 minutes for plenary speakers). The Question & Answer sessions should not exceed 5 minutes (5 minutes for the keynote speakers and 10 minutes for the plenary speakers). In the interest of fairness, please make sure that your entire session does not exceed 20 minutes (30 minutes for keynote speakers and 60 minutes for plenary speakers). The session Chair will time your presentation and give you a 2-minute warning. Please keep a strict eye on the time during your presentation.
For poster presenters
–
You shall bring a hardcopy poster to the conference. Your poster shall have a vertical or “portrait” orientation and be at A0 Format: 841 × 1189 mm.
The poster must be readable from a distance of 2 to 3 meters. This means that all letters should be at least 8 mm high and that graphics and diagrams should be drawn with a minimum line thickness of 1 mm.
You shall organize and align your content with columns, sections, headings, and blocks of text. Include title, collaborators, abstract, background/literature review, research questions, materials, approach, process or methods, results/conclusion, future directions, acknowledgements and contact information. You can find the event banner here if you wish to include it in your poster.
You shall avoid abbreviations, acronyms, and jargon. Avoid blurry images; ensure all graphics are high-resolution and easily visible.
Your poster shall be self-explanatory so that you can supplement the information and discuss specific points raised by viewers during your presentation session. Discussion becomes difficult if you have to spend time explaining your poster to viewers.
Lists with your name and the assigned poster ID will be available and displayed at the venue.
Two poster sessions are planned during extended lunchtime: the first on July 1st, the second on July 3rd. For the first session, you must hang your poster on June 30th (morning) and take it down on July 1st (evening). The posters for the second session will be hung on July 2nd (morning) and removed on July 3rd (evening).
