What is the unique format of the RIVES conference?

The RIVES conference is built on the “Chalk & Scalpel” concept. Unlike traditional meetings that rely on slide presentations, our sessions prioritize live anatomical demonstrations and real-time interaction. Each topic begins with a theoretical anatomical drawing (Chalk) followed immediately by a live cadaveric dissection (Scalpel) to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

I’m a young surgeon; is the level too advanced for me?

Not at all. As we start with the anatomical basics (the “Chalk” sessions), the congress is highly educational for residents and fellows. It provides a rare opportunity to see “the inside” of the abdominal wall with a level of clarity that is difficult to find in standard clinical training.

Does the conference organizer provide an invoice and a certificate of attendance?

Yes. We provide the necessary documentation for your university or institute to process grants and reimbursements. To receive your documents, please send a request to [email protected] according to the following timeline:

  • Invoice / Registration Proof: You may request this at any time once your payment and registration are completed.
  • Certificate of Attendance: This can be requested only after the conference has finished.
Can I register for only the workshop, only the regular meeting, or both?

Yes, you can choose the option that best fits your interests. We offer two registration types: workshop + regular meeting or only regular meeting. You can find the detailed program by hovering over “Program” in the top menu bar and selecting “Schedule” from the dropdown menu.

How do the interactive voting sessions work?

During the live cadaveric demonstrations, we use a real-time digital voting system. Participants can use their smartphones to vote on which surgical approach or anatomical path the surgeon should take next. This ensures the demonstration is driven by the audience’s curiosity and needs.

What is the official language of the RIVES 2026 conference?

The official language for all scientific sessions, presentations, and live cadaveric demonstrations is English. All slides, program materials, and signage will be provided in English to ensure a seamless experience for our international delegation. However, as the conference is hosted at the CHU de Reims in France, many of our local organizers and faculty are bilingual.
