I2BC

The I2BC is a joint research unit overseen by the CEA, CNRS and Université Paris-Saclay , with an average workforce of 650 spread across 5 scientific departments, 61 research teams and 15 technology platforms.
The unit’s main research theme is characterizing the integrated functioning of the cell, and in particular understanding the processes which, at the molecular level, govern the cell’s organization and overall physiology.
Researchers carry out their work on different organisms (from viruses to human cells) or on complexes reconstituted in vitro, at different scales and under different physiological conditions. The common goal of this work is to model the global functioning of model and non-model organisms, and ultimately to predict the impact of molecular, subcellular and environmental changes on the behavior of normal or pathological cells and tissues.
