The French 3R meeting covers basic research on replication, repair and recombination in France. In recent years, due to major advances in new emerging fields, the 3R meeting has also covered epigenetics, DNA damage signaling, links between clinical and basic research, and research into rare diseases. Indeed, it has now been established that altered chromatin structures or dysfunctions in genome maintenance, repair and replication can lead to genetic alterations that are often deleterious and associated with the development of cancers or rare diseases.

For the past 25 years, the French 3R meeting has enabled the community of French researchers interested in this subject to meet regularly, providing a unique opportunity for young scientists to present their work and exchange ideas with other researchers. The success of the twelve previous editions has demonstrated the sustained interest of the scientific community in these meetings – nearly 230 people attended the latest editions in May 2019 and 2022.
