When data works: A call to invest in information systems for nutrition at N4G Paris 2025 

The National Information Platforms for Nutrition (NIPN) and Strengthening National Nutrition Information Systems (EC-NIS) are organizing an event to inform and support commitments towards nutrition information systems in the run-up to the N4G. The event will be held during the 6th NIPN Global Gathering, on Tuesday 22 2024, 16:00 Ethiopia time, at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and online.

As governments, non-governmental organisations, foundations, and the private sector are formulating pledges for the 2025 N4G in Paris, NIPN and EC-NIS are calling their attention to nutrition information systems as a force multiplier for nutrition. Effective nutrition information systems inform policymaking, support adaptative programming, and foster accountability.  

NIPN and EC-NIS, rooted in national leadership and experience, demonstrate how nutrition information systems can support better nutrition results. Together they are calling on the nutrition community to rally for continued and increased investment in nutrition information systems.

How does it work?

The following information is provided to assist all the attendees in order to ensure smooth participation in this online gathering.

Using Interactio: please use Google Chrome browser to ensure that the plenary room works properly.

Asking a question: you can ask a question through the chat button on the right of your screen.

Selecting your preferred language: on the bottom left corner, you can select the language you would like to listen to (floor ie no translation, English, French or Spanish). Please make sure to speak the language of the channel you are listening to.

Setting up your devices: please plug in your laptop charger and have your headphones with a microphone near you if needed, we highly recommend using them as a speaker, when you ask a question.

Setting up your camera: please set your camera: the best angle for the camera to capture your face is from the eye-level or a little above. If needed, add some books under your computer to reach the appropriate height. You shall get close to the camera but not too close. The camera should frame your face, neck, and shoulders. Also, you shall be at the center of the frame.

Turning off your camera if you encounter connection issues: please turn off your camera if you have problems with your internet connection during the meeting. Your connection will be better if you only have essential programs opened.

Considering the light: light your face and darken the space behind you: The light source should come from in front of you. Natural light is highly advised.

Naming yourself: put your real first and last name as a username. If you represent a country, please indicate the name of the country first and then your name.

What is a connecting platform?

The connecting platform gives you access to the different areas of the event: you will have access to the launch room, the Twitter livestream and the help desk.

How do I know at which time a given speech is being presented?

How can I join a room?

On the connecting platform, you will see buttons named “Click here to join the launch room”…, by clicking on it, you will be redirected to an online room, that you will be able to access it from your browser (please use Google Chrome for a smooth experience).

How can I get assistance from the conference staff?

The staff would be glad to help you if you are facing any technical issue, you can reach us at any time at whendataworks2024@premc.org. A help desk room will be also available 30 minutes before the beginning of the conference. This room will be open to provide you with face-to-face help. If you are not able to use the help desk at all, there will be a chat available on the right bottom corner of the dashboard page.
