REGIONAL WEBINAR ON SULPHUR INSPECTIONS – COMPLIANCE, TECHNOLOGY AND BEST PRACTICES FOR THE CONSISTENT ENFORCEMENT OF THE 0.10% SULPHUR LIMIT IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA EMISSION CONTROL AREA FOR SULPHUR OXIDES AND PARTICULATE MATTER (Med SOX ECA)
I have the honour to invite you to participate in the Webinar on Sulphur Inspections – Compliance, Technology and Best Practices for the consistent enforcement of the 0.10% Sulphur Limit in the Mediterranean Sea Emission Control Area for Sulphur Oxides and Particulate Matter (Med SOX ECA), hereinafter referred to as the webinar, which will be held on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, via ZOOM e-conferencing platform.
The webinar, which is being organised by the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC), is financed by the UNEP/MAP Mediterranean Trust Fund (MTF). With the entry into effective application of the Med SOX ECA on 1 May 2025 and the feedback provided during the Regional Workshop on the consistent implementation of IMO 2020 under MARPOL Annex VI and the 0.10% sulphur limit in the Med SOX ECA (Malta, 22-23 May 2024), focus should now also turn to the consistent enforcement of the MARPOL provisions across the Mediterranean.
